About

I like polite, friendly people. I like cheap tacos “al carbon” from street stalls. I like readily available taxis and a fast, cheap subway. I like to go out after midnight and drink and dance until the sun comes up. I like Latin men. I like romance and hot animal sex. I like rules that were meant to be broken. I like lingering for hours in outdoor cafes. I like a city that spends loads of money on the arts and public events. I like wide boulevards with monuments and fountains and traffic circling round-a-bouts at insane speeds. I need a city with good coffee, good bread and good beer. I thrive on the hustle and bustle. I love Mexico City.

I don’t like people that won’t give me the time of day. I don’t like a world that plugs up it’s ears and talks to the air instead of talking to ME. I don’t like to spend half my income on rent. I don’t like cold rain. I don’t like a 2:00 AM curfew. I don’t like the gay ghetto. I don’t like to be spied upon. I don’t like being told I cannot go to Cuba and North Korea. I don’t like my income spent on murder, torture and oppression. I don’t like to be persecuted for the books I check out from the library. I don’t like my emails and phone calls monitored. Call me kooky, but I likes my habeas corpus.

Little by little I’m picking up work as a photographer, a translator, and a web designer. I’m not yet making enough to give up my summer job in San Francisco but it’s my dream. I love SF but two months a year there is too long away from what’s become my real home. Plus I would love to travel to other destinations. I haven’t been to Europe in ages and I need to go back to Cuba. And then there’s Costa Rica, Columbia, Turkey, Cambodia…
